Summer lull will be followed by a DIY burst

After the summer lull homeowners will start to carry out improvements to their properties, according to an expert, who said that cavity wall insulation and draft proofing will be popular.
Andrew Leech, director at the National Home Improvement Council, said that once the summer is finished, reams of DIYers will once again pick up tools and start to make changes around their abodes.
"Once we get the summer over and once we get the government more settled in - if it is going to settle in - then people will be taking a more positive attitude towards their properties and thinking about new kitchens and new bathrooms," he stated.
Last year's bad winter may have left a lot of homeowners with work that needs to be carried out, according to the expert.
Mr Leech recently said that when people are considering changes to their property they need to be energy-efficient if possible and consider sensible additions, like conservatories.
