Community
We believe it is vitally important to give back to the communities around our nationwide branches, whether it is through charitable donations, local initiatives or supporting local clubs.Â
Fundraising
Our 2024 Bikeathon in aid of Debra Ireland was a huge success! The bike moved between our nationwide branches throughout the week and
the participation from the team was beyond expectation. Even more importantly the donations were also beyond expectation! The funds raised by staff were doubled by HSS Hire bringing the final figure to €2370. We even went beyond our target distance, thanks to the competitive spirit of everyone on the bike. We then had the honour of presenting the cheque to Emma Fogarty, an ambassador for Debra Ireland, in the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise. Emma was on the Late Late show in 2024 with Colin Farrell, as he pushed her the last 5km in the Dublin Marathon to celebrate her 40th birthday. She suffers from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) on 80% of her body, the equivalent of third degree burns. Her bandages have to be changed everyday, taking up to four hours, and causing agony for her. Debra Ireland work to support people suffering from this disease, just like Emma.Â
We are planning to make this a yearly event, and we continue to support the charity.

Supporting Community
DIY SOS The Big Build Ireland is an RTE show that rebuilds people’s lives by rebuilding their homes, fronted by Baz Ashmawy. They recently headed to Mooncoin in Co. Kilkenny where a future proof home was built for local girl Aoibhinn O’Hanlon, who has a severe type of spina bifida. This poses significant challenges for her and her family. They need a lot of equipment to care for her, and they were living in cramped conditions in her grandparents house. The big reveal was filmed in May, and it was so heart-warming to see the family’s reaction. We proudly supplied a range of equipment for this build, and it was a pleasure to be involved with such a brilliant project.
Some of the Equipment we supplied through our Waterford branch included Alloy Towers, Concrete Mixers, Lighting Towers, Self righting work lights, Generator, Dumper, Scissor lift, Mitower and a Compact Pressure Washer Bowser.
